ABOUT ME

Helen Malcolmson BSc (Hons) PG Dip ITEC BTAA BTUK

Before becoming a Bowen Therapist, I have been a primary school teacher, the primary carer for our children and I am also a Forest School Practitioner and I continue to do this alongside Bowen Therapy.

I have always had an interest in how the body works and helping people, previously training in Massage Therapy back in 2005. But discovering Bowen Therapy, during my second pregnancy, in 2010 while suffering from SPD, had a profound effect.  The gentle soft tissue approach relieved the awful pain I was suffering from immediately.  I was fascinated and blown away by how quickly my body responded.  But it was another 8 years before I began training, I had to have my third baby first.

I have seen Bowen Therapy have inspiring results with my clients, in some cases, the result have been life changing.

I have experience working with all ages from newborn babies to the elderly, with a range of conditions, ranging from sports injuries such as sprained ankles, epicondylitis or knee problems, to clients with longer term health conditions such as arthritis, Fibromyalgia and MS. I am very interested in the effects of Bowen Therapy managing Stress and Well-Being, Long Covid and Autoimmune Conditions, as although these conditions may take longer to see benefits, the benefits can be lasting.

As a fully registered member of The Bowen Association UK, I am fully trained in the Bowen Technique and undertake a minimum of 16 hours of continued professional development (CPD) every year.  I follow a strict code of practice and guidelines required by the Bowen Association UK.
I hold an ITEC Level 3 in Anatomy and Physiology, an up to date First Aid certificate and I am fully insured.
